Centaflex 50A rubber elastic element, the part that links both sides of the coupling and damps vibration.
Centaflex 50A elastic element, known in the workshop as a cardan spider. It is the rubber part of the Centaflex coupling that sits between the two metal sides: it transmits the torque, absorbs vibration and shock and accepts small misalignment between the shafts.
Centaflex couplings are fitted, for example, between combustion engines or electric motors and pumps, or at the engine output to a cardan shaft. Over time the rubber hardens or cracks and should be replaced before it breaks.
The Centaflex catalogue is in the attachments. Before ordering, check the size and type of the element fitted (the marking on the rubber, or the dimensions and bolt pattern).
