Suction strainers

Argo-Hytos suction filters to protect the pump from coarse particles coming from the reservoir. Choose by pump flow and connection thread.

The suction strainer sits inside the tank, at the end of the pipe that goes to the pump, or in the line itself. It has a coarse mesh (125 to 250 µm in these items) because it must not restrict the oil: a suction line with too much pressure drop makes the pump cavitate, with noise and wear. So this filter protects the pump from loose parts and coarse dirt, and fine filtration is left to the return and pressure filters.

There are threaded strainers in 1/2", 3/4", 1.1/4" and 3", with the body dimensions in the name, and Argo-Hytos filters in the FS1, S232 and AS series. Choose a strainer with a flow rating equal to or higher than the pump flow and check the thread of the suction pipe.
