Technical guide: How to identify hydraulic seals: types, dimensions and materials

The TTI/L is a rod seal for hydraulic cylinders, with a secondary lip behind the main lips. That second lip holds a little oil, which helps keep the rod from running dry. It fits in the groove of the cylinder head.

There are close to 100 sizes, from 16 to 180 mm rod diameter, given as rod × outside diameter × height. To choose, measure the rod and the groove, or the old seal, and check all three dimensions before ordering.

The housing must have rounded chamfers with no burrs, so the lips are not cut on the way in. If the cylinder uses the version without a secondary lip, see the TTI.
