Technical guide: How to identify hydraulic seals: types, dimensions and materials

The P9 is a rod wiper with two lips. The outer one cleans dust, mud and other debris off the rod before it gets into the cylinder, which prevents scoring and spares the guides and the rod seal. The inner one leaves a thin layer of oil on the rod, so the rod does not run dry.

It has no shoulder: it fits inside the groove of the cylinder head, where the rod comes out. When fitting, the chamfers should be rounded and free of burrs so the lips are not cut.

Sizes are in the list (rod × outside diameter × height). Before ordering, measure the rod and the housing, or read the size on the wiper you are replacing.
